Hi, I'm Clara, founder and creative heart of Clara Himmel and would like to tell you about my story and my passion in the next few lines:

how it all started

My idea started four years ago, at a kitchen table with a sewing machine and a stack of fabric.

In addition to my job at the time as a costume and stage design assistant at the theater in Dortmund, I had the desire to create a new product from leftover fabric. So, at home at my kitchen table, I began to sew the first bags from a pile of fabrics that I had been given. I offered the first finished products via a sales portal on the Internet and was able to make many people happy with my first bags.

Your own label

After a short time, growing know-how and increasing experience, I decided to found my own fashion label Clara Himmel in Dortmund. Since then I have been working every day with great passion on collections and products that make the world a little bit more beautiful.

The studio

For two years now I have traded the kitchen table for a studio and am happy every day about my creative place, which is not only a workshop but also a shop. From the first idea to the finished product, personal sale and shipping, all work steps take place in my studio in Dortmund. Here my customers can convince themselves of the quality, get personal advice from me and shop in a comfortable atmosphere. It is particularly important to me to create simple and timeless designs that are not based on fast-moving trends and are exchanged after a short time. All products can be combined with each other, result in an uncomplicated look and become absolute favourites.

Whether it's a t-shirt, dress, trousers or skirt - every product is made for you from high-quality materials with great attention to detail.

Sustainability at Clara Himmel

Sustainability and fair production are particularly important to me.

Therefore, our production takes place in Germany and Portugal . In my small studio, only as much is produced as can be sold . Many garments are made just in time and only cut and sewn after the order is received to avoid overproduction. All raw materials are used: We hardly have any waste. The "zero-waste" idea plays a major role both in the creation of the patterns and in the cutting itself. The pattern constructions are adapted to the lengths of fabric in order to use all raw materials as sparingly as possible.

With my designs, I want to create durable and high-quality favorite pieces that tell a story.
